In the late-1920s, Swiss watchmaker Ulrich von Steinhausen dreamed of building a watch for Zeppelin pilots. Sadly, his vision - a mechanical watch with four independent inset dials (24-hour time, day, month and year) and a date window – proved too complex for the machine tools and technology of the day. Recently, Steinhausen's grandson discovered Ulrich's 80-year old sketches and set out to bring his grandfather's dream to life. Ulrich would be proud! 21-jewel, automatic, mechanical movement, so it never needs winding or batteries. Brushed and polished, stainless steel case accented with genuine sapphires. 43mm dial. Sweep second hand. Interchangeable black and brown leather straps included. Presented in a felt-lined, wooden case with black matte finish. Serial numbered. One year warranty. Available in gold-tone and silver-tone. Please specify above.
